Recently someone asked on Dr Gav how to explain Hell and why God made it when he knew that many people would end up in it. Check out Dr Gav to view the full question posted on 13 August. In this forum I will post some of that person's questions and thoughts for you guys to get into and then on 17 September at youthgroup I'm thinking of doing a night on this as well. Feel free to add your own thoughts, points of views and questions and hpefully through it all we will understand God and his reasons a bit better.

What about in the Old Testament times, what did they do? How did people in the Old Testament times know Gods ways if they weren’t shown how to live.?

Can you be saved without knowing Jesus first? I can’t get my head around Romans 1:18. because don’t we believe as Christians That if you confess with your mouth, \"Jesus is Lord,\" and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:6) I thought that there is only one way to be saved and that is to confess your sins and ask Jesus into your heart? Doesn’t trying to find God in nature sound a bit new agey or whatever?

If God knew many people would end up going to hell, why did he bother? I’m still confused about the whole Hell thing. I’m still freaked out about not knowing how to explain Hell and why God made it. I’ve heard it argued that if God knows everything, ie “knows the beginning from the end” and that Jesus was “slain from the foundation of the world”, then doesn’t this mean that before he made us, he knew it was going to go wrong and had to die for us?
