| Update on Nigel and Cathie - Christmas 2006 |

| Hey guys. This is a little update on the lives of the Cottle family since leaving Kumeu. It has been almost 6 months, and they have flown by. Cathie accepted a 6 month contract to teach a new entrant class at Taupaki School, and has really thrived being there. The staff are incredibly supportive, and she has revelled in teaching again. It has been great for her to be operating at the core of her giftings. The experience has been so positive, Cathie has decided to enter into the world of full time teaching again, and will accept a full time role at Taupaki next year. I stepped into the Auckland Baptist Youth Consultant’s role since July. I had been working regionally 1 day a week for the past year, and took on the point role in July. It has had a load of challenges, and I know that this is the place that I am meant to be in for now. It uses my strengths and is stimulating. I work for the Auckland Baptist Association 3 days a week, and I look after Portia the other days. I am also still on the parachute executive, but changed roles to a new position called Food & Beverage, which basically means I am responsible for all food and drink onsite (including Soul Tribe café!). I had a week snowboarding in the South Island in August, I had 4 days kayaking the Abel Tasman in November; it has been a great half of a year. Anais has been in Cathie’s class for the second half of this year, and that has been really cool for the both of them. Anais has taken up ballet lessons, and her first show is just before Christmas. Portia just turned 4 and had a sleeping beauty birthday party of which she was most proud. She is growing up very fast. We still love living in Kumeu, we have met a whole lot more people through the school, and feel at home here. We have been attending the Northwest Baptist Church, where my father is the pastor (our kids love seeing their grandparents on Sunday’s). It has been good being part of the touch team this summer, you guys are great for a group that never practises. Hope we start winning again soon Have a great Christmas, and remember God is always there, even when the programs stop. Have a radical holiday Nigel |
